Quick facts: Amstetten was commissioned in the summer of 2006 as a joint
venture of SWH and Umdasch AG, a manufacturer of shopfittings which will
supply about a third of the total fuel supply from waste timber products.
Österreichische Bundesforste AG, will provide the balance with chipped forestry residues. Annual output is
expected to be 40,000 MWh of electricity and 80,000 MWh of heat, of which about 65% will
be delivered to Umdasch and the remaining portion delivered to the
district heating network.

Quick facts: This sawmill and power plant has extensive facilities for
tours and conferences. Helmut Reitter was the architect and designed
numerous special features to facilitate both activities. The plant cost
€30mn and is expected to produce about 56 GWh/yr of
electricity and 114 GWh/yr of heat.

Quick facts: This CHP plant si at a chipbioard plant and burns about
100,000 tpy of waste wood. AET supplied and installed the spreader stoker
combustion system and auxiliaries plus the APC equipment and installed these
items plus the stack and BOP equipment.

Quick facts: This power station began operation in 1972 as a heat-only
facility. In 1996, the air-pollution control equipment was upgraded and in

Quick facts: The first units at Linz Mitte went online in 1970.
These have now been retired and replaced by a 105-MW combined-cycle block
in 2004 and the new biomass power plant. One of the world's largest
thermal water storage tanks was also built.
