Quick facts: Contruction on this CHP project began on 9 May 2011 and commercial operation was declared on 7 Feb 2013. The completed cost was $470mn, almos 15% under budget. The HP and IP steam turbinesare connected with the LP turbine via an overrunning SSS clutch. This allows the LP turbine to be disconnected at time s of high steam demand for the heating system. Maxium heating capacity is 729 MWt. The project was built to blend in with local offices and commercial building and the plant substation is completely underground. The plant is aka Caoqiao-II, Caoqiao is a large, heating plant.

Taiyanggong

Quick facts: In Oct 2005, Beijing Development & Reform Commission approved construction of the Taiyanggong trigeneration CCGT project owned by Beijing Energy Investment Holding and SP Power Development Co. The site is in Chaoyang District and supplies about 3,300 GWh/yr to the local grid plus heating and cooling services for about 40km² of the Beijing metro area. Plant completion allowed for the removal of about 80 heating boilers. The gas turbines completed in Dec 2007 and Jan 2008, respectively, and the steam-electric component went online in Jul 2008. GE secured a 10yr contractual services agreement (CSA) with the plant operator. At completion, this was considered the largest plant of its kind in the world.

Quick facts: This plant is in Tanggu District, Tianjin, and was built to take advantage of natural gas being flared at the Tianjan Bohai Oilfield. The plant is invested by China Guodian and Tianjin TEDA Investment Holding Co. Construction started in Sep 1998 and operation was in Jan 2000. This was North China's first gas-fired CCGT.
