Fujian Jinjiang Location: Fujian Operator: Fujian Energy Group Co Ltd Configuration: 4 X 390-MW CCGT blocks with 9001FA gas turbines Fuel: LNG Operation: 2009-2010 HRSG supplier: Hangzhou T/G supplier: GE, Harbin Quick facts: In Apr 2007, Fujian Jinjiang Gas Power Co Ltd began work on this CCGT plant on the coast of the Taiwan Strait in Shizhen Village, Jinjing Town, Jinjiang City. The project company is invested by Fujian Energy Group Co. The first block started commissioning in Mar 2008 and went commercial on 15 Jan 2009 and the second followed in May 2009 with the final two blocks going online in 2010. Design fuel is about 820,000 tpy of LNG from Indonesia’s Tangguh gas field. In August 2009, GE Energy signed a $115mn, LTSA for the project. The plant cost RMB 2.375bn. First concrete was in June 2004 and the plant went commercial in Aug 2007. This was the first Chinese gas-fired plant to receive CDM approval. In December 2005, the last of three 390-MW blocks went online, making this first, 1-GW gas-fired CCGT power station in China. The plant cost RMB 40bn. Excavation bega in February 2010, main steel erection started in June 2005, and Unit-1 went online on 1 January 2005. Fuel is about 800mn m³/yr of western gas. MHI supplied blades, rotors and control systems while combustors were built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Dongfang Gas Turbine (Guangzhou) Co Ltd. The site is near a new LNG terminal in Putian district, 150km northeast of Xiamen. The Putian CCGT is expected to consume about a third of CNOOC's LNG imports from Indonesia with each block burning about 800,000 tpy.
