Black Point Location: Hong Kong Operator: CLP Power Configuration: 8 X 341-MW single-shaft CCGT blocks with 9001FA gas turbines Fuel: natural gas, distillate oil Operation: 1996-2006 HRSG supplier: Babcock Energy T/G supplier: GEC Alstom, GE EPC: Alstom, GE, Mouchel Asia, Cegelec Quick facts: The power station is owned by ExxonMobil Energy Ltd (60%) and CLP Power Hong Kong Ltd (40%). Site access was obtained in March 1993 and deliveries of major equipment began in mid-1994 to the 46ha site. The plant cost around HK$24bn. Fuel is from the Yacheng field offshore Hainan via a 780km subsea pipeline. Reserves are declining faster than anticipated so CLP is planning to build an LNG terminal to supply gas for the power station and other users in Hong Kong.
