Bertonico-Turano Location: LO Operator: Sorgenia Configuration: 800-MW, 2+1 CCGT with AE94.3A4 gas turbines Operation: 2011 Fuel: natural gas HRSG supplier: Ansaldo T/G supplier: Ansaldo EPC: Ansaldo Quick facts: The Bertonico PS is near the town of Lodi on a brownfield site that was previously occupied by an oil refinery demolished in the early 1980s. The EPC contract and notice to proceed was given in Apr 2008 and Ansaldo also secured a LTSA for the GTs and generators. Civil works began in Oct 2008, hand-over was in Nov 2010, and commercial operation was declared on 11 Feb 2011. A small amount of electricity is sent to the grid via a 130kV connection a the works. In Apr 2007, Wood Group was awarded a LTSA for the machine. Tavazzano Location: LO Operator: E.ON Italia SpA Configuration: 800-MW, 2+1 CCGT, 400-MW, 1+1 CCGT with 9001FA gas turbines, 2 X 320 MW conventional steam units Operation: 1952-1992 (original steam sets) Fuel: natural gas, oil Boiler & HRSG supplier: Ansaldo, STF T/G supplier: Ansaldo, Tosi, Marelli, GE EPC: STEI, Enel Quick facts: Società Termo Elettrica Italiana di Tavazzano (STEI) was founded by Agip and Eidson to build this plant with 2 X 65 MW and 2 X 140-MW units. The 70ha site is centrally located near load centers in the townships of Montanaso Lombardo and Tavazzano con Villavesco, 25km from Milan. Water is available from the Muzza Canal and discharged to the Belgiardino Canal and ultimately the Adda River.In 1968, the facility was transferred to Enel who extended Tavazzano with 4 X 320-MW conventional oil- and gas-fired units. The small steam sets have been retired and the first two 320-MW steam sets have been reused in two CCGT blocks. Units-7&8 remain in service essentially as built.
