Quick facts: In Apr 2011, PetroKaz Kumkol completed an extension to its gas turbine power plant at the Kumkol oil field, about 200km from Kyzyl-orda town. The power station uses associated (flare) gas from local production sites and was developed in consortium with JSC Turgai Petroleum, majority-owned by Russia’s Lukoil.

Quick facts: In May 2004, Bateman Litwin was awarded a $190mn contract for a new CCGT plant by NCOC. The $196mn project was then due for completion in Jun 2007, but substantial completion was not until Mar 2011. The Kashagan utilities plant serves the the onshore terminal works.
