Egbema Location: Imo Operator: Power Holding Co of Nigeria plc Configuration: 3 X126 MW 9001E gas turbines Operation: 2011 Fuel: natural gas T/G supplier: GE EPC: Rockson Quick facts: The N26.5bn Egbema project was approved in Apr 2006 as one of the seven Niger Delta plant awarded by the Federal Government of Nigeria under the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP). Egbema is about 30km from Owerri. The project has been delayed by lack of access to natural gas and transmission capacity.

SDEM Erectors Nigeria Quick facts: On 1 Apr 2007, President Obasanjo commissioned the Geregu Power Plant, the first brand new power plant funded and commissioned by his administration. It cost €195mn.

Olorunsogo-I Location: Ogun Operator: Niger Delta Power Holding Co Ltd Configuration: 8 X 38-MW 6001B gas turbines Fuel: natural gas, oil Operation: 2007 T/G supplier: Nanjing EPC: SEPCO No 3 Quick facts: In Mar 2002, CMEC and SEPCO No 3 announced a $390mn agreement with the Ministry of Mines and Power to build two gas-fired, gas turbine power plants with a total capacity of 670 MW. The deal also included the construction of related substations and transmission lines and assistance in plant operations. The Olorunsogo plant in Ogun is 70km west of Lagos. Ground-breaking was in Sep 2004 and full construction started in Mar 2005. China ExIm Bank supplied a N24bn loan for the projects.
