The public inquiry period expired in Jan 2003 without incident and, in Mar 2008, International Power successfully completed the financing of the project. Other key agreements, including a tolling contract and an EPC contract, were signed at the same time and the production license was received in Apr 2008. The plant is owned and operated by a 50:50 joint venture of International Power and Endesa snf shares cooling water infrastructure and other services with the Pego coal-fired plant. The total project cost was estimated to be €580mn, funded by an 85:15 mix of debt and equity. PB Power was owner's engineer. The HRSGs have a capacity of 250 tph of steam. SMM was a mechanical subcontractor and Tractebel Engineering was a consultant on the project.
