Quick facts: In Feb 2012, LUKOIL-Astrakhanenergo laid the foundation for this CCGT plant at the Astrakhan Tsentralnaya central heating plant. The first block, Block-2, finished testing in July 2013 and has a 23-MW steamer. The second commissioned in October 2013 and has a 17-MW steamer. The new plant is grid connected at 110kV.

Quick facts: Construction of this CCGT plant took about 2.5yrs and cost 17bn rubles. It was one of the key of infrastructure projects related to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games and should suffice to cover about one quarter of the expected peak load associated with the games as well as providing support to the local 220- and 110kV grids. These were the launch LMS100 machine in Russia. The plant was commissioned on 5 Nov 2013.

Quick facts: At completion, this was the third modern combined-cycle plant in Russia. The plant is located in a resort area characterized by complex soils and high seismicity and was designed, built and commissioned in two years. The plant is now being extended to support the 2014 Winter Olympics.
