Ankara Bilkent Location: Ankara Operator: Bilkent Enerji Configuration: 37-MW, 1+1 CCGT with RB211gas turbine, 1 X 4.8 MW Taurus 60 Operation: 1993-2003 HRSG supplier: FW T/G supplier: Rolls-Royce, Solar Quick facts: Rolls-Royce Power Ventures acquired a 50% share of an existing 4-MW cogeneration facility and with partner Bilkent Holding AS expanded the facility with a RB211 gas turbine, HRSG, and steam turbine installed by Foster Wheeler. Bilkent University purchases electricity and steam from the facility with the rest of the output sold to industrial companies and TEAS. RRPV sold its share to Bilkent in December 2002. In Sep 2001, Tractebel acquired a controlling interest in the $500mn plant. Baymina has a 15yr PPA with TETAS and a gas supply contract with Botas. The U.S. Export-Import Bank approved a $60mn loan guarantee to support the export of the gas turbines and Denmark's EKF reinsured $16.3mn of the financing to cover the HRSG export.
