It cost about $260mn. Process steam is supplied to Voridian and the new plant allowed the Eastman Chemical subsidiary to shut down its coal-fired boilers. The third block was dedicated in Sep 2011 and the complex renamed after Sherwood Smith, a 35yr Carolina Power & Light company veteran who retired as Chairman and CEO.
