Quick facts: This project is a JV of the Army and El Paso Electric’s
MiraSol energy services group. The machine is used as a peak shaver with
back-up duty to the base in the event of a blackout on the local grid. The
Frame 5 was purchased in Columbia, dismantled and shipped to Revak
Turbo-Machinery Services where it was re-built. Water injection equipment
was added for NOx control and power augmentation.

by an affiliate of Tenaska Inc. It went online in Jan 1997. In Jun 2000, a
90% stake was sold to an affiliate of Delta Power LLC and Brazos Electric
Power Coop, the original electricity customer, acquired the plant in 2005.
The power station sells steam to the City of Cleburne and uses city water
and treated waste water from the local STP. The HRSG was rebuilt in 2006.

followed by the second block in Sep 2001. GE Industrial Services built the
switchyard. The plant is served by gas pipelines owned by El Paso, ONEOK, and Enterprise.

American Energy Services and the energy manager is Eagle Energy Partners I
LP. Construction started in Mar 2006. A second identical block is under
construction.

Quick facts: This $200mn+ power station provides Rusk County with
significant financial benefits including annual plant payroll and
subcontractor budgets of approximately $2mn and property tax revenues. The
Gateway plant is connected to AEP’s Pirkey-Crockett 345kV and can dispatch
power to three separate NERC regions. There are four possible
configurations in dual-grid operation: The steam turbine by itself on one
grid, or the steam turbine with one, two, or three gas turbines. An
affiliate of Coral Power purchases the entire power output of the electric
generating station and sells the power on a merchant basis. In
2006, Tenaska Gateway was presented with a Best Practices Award from
Combined Cycle Journal for a variable frequency drive project.
