Dora Location: Aydin Operator: MEGE Menderes Geothermal Elektrik Uretim AS Configuration: 1 X 8.5 MW, 1 X 11.5 MW ORC Operation: 2009-2010 T/G supplier: Ormat Quick facts: Turkey has significant but low-temperature geothermal resources. This project is located in Salavatli village, in Aydin City. It is the third utility-scale geothermal plant in the country.

Germencik Location: Aydin Operator: Gurmat Elektrik Uretim AS Configuration: 1 X 47.4 MW Operation: 2009 T/G supplier: MHI EPC: Power Engineers, Guris Insaat, Veizades and Associates, Geologica Quick facts: This double-flash, $100mn project went into initial operation at the end of February 2009. The plant uses 8 wells drilled from 965m to 2,432m. At completion, it was the largest geothermal plant in Turkey. Financing was by WestLB with equity from Guris. The site is in the Alangüllü River valleuy in West Anatolia, not far from the Aegean coast.

Kizildere Location: Denizli Operator: Zorlu Enerji Configuration: 1 X 17.4 MW Operation: 1984 T/G supplier: Ansaldo Quick facts: Kizldere is between Denizli and Aydin and is the first Turkish geothermal field used for electricity production. Exploration began in 1965. In 1974, a 500-kW pilot turbine was constructed by General Directorate of Mineral Research and Exploration (MTA). This operated from 1974 to 1980. The Kizlidere steam set was built and operated by TEAS/EUAS for 24yrs. The plant was privatized and won by Zorlu Enerji via bidding in Mar 2008. The operating license was transferred to Zorlu from 1 Sep 2008.
