The dam is 77m tall and 230m long. Construction started in 1985. This is the only hydro plant on the Rio Assungui, which flows into Rio Juquiá-Guaçu downstream from Serraria, the location of the last of a series of six power plants constructed by CBA on this river. Três Irmãos Location: SP Operator: CESP Configuration: 5 X 161.5 MW Francis Operation: 1993-1999 T/G supplier: Neyrpic, Alstom, Voith, BBC, Siemens, Weg, ABB, Asea, Cegelec, Arreva EPC: Themag, Camargo Correa, Techint Quick facts: This is the largest hydroelectric plant on the Rio Tiete River and is 28km from its confluence with the Rio Paraná. The first generating unit went into operation in Nov 1993 and the fifth in Jan 1999. The dam is 3,640m long and has two navigation locks. The 9.6km Canal Pereira Barreto connects the reservoirs for Ilha Solteira and Tres Irmaos allowing for integrated operation of the two hydro plants as well as navigation between the northern and southern legs of the Tiete-Paraná system.
