This injunction was lifted by a federal court in Aug 2009 and the scheme weathered many more legal challenges. In Apr 2010, the 35yr concession went to Norte Energia. The lead owners are Eletronorte (19.98%), Eletrobras (15%), and CHESF (15%), with 8 other companies and entitites holding stakes. The spillway has a total length of 445.5m and has 18 radial gates, each 20m long and 22m high. The first machine began testing on 17 Feb 2016.
