The plant was CDM registered in Apr 2007.

Quick facts: This plant is on the Rio Pilmaiquen 7km downstream of Lake Puyehue. A group of dams diverts the river's flow into a 460m canal forming a small reservoir before the powerhouse. The plant is 956km south of Santiago and connects to the SIC via a 43km transmission line. Output is sold to local distribution utilities and one of Chile's largest dairy products companies.

Quick facts: In Nov 2004, Colbun resumed development of the Quilleco HPP hydroelectric plant on the Rio Laja near Los Angeles. The plant was originally permitted in late 1999. The project includes a 44km concrete channel, 3.2km aqueduct tunnel, a 105m pressure penstock and the powerhouse. A short 220kV double circuit line connects to the existing 220kV line to the Charrua substation on the SIC. The first unit came online in April 2007 and the second in July 2007. The plant cost about $80mnand connects to the 220kV grid.
