The original equipment at the Bertiini plant consisted of seven 1.5-MW sets. Paolo Milani and Guido Semenza were the lead hydraulic and electrical engineers, respectively. The turbines were supplied by Milan's Riva & Monneret, who had just built turbines for the Niagara project, and the generators were sourced from Brown Boveri with transformers from Ganz and  switches from General Electric.
