Quick facts: With the completion of three new 310-MW units, ordered from Alstom in Nov 2000 for 140mn, this became Mexico's largest hydro plant. It is connected to the grid by six 400kV lines and two 115kV lines. The plant is also known as Manuel Moreno Torres, named after a CFE Director General in the late 1950s. At completion, the 261m dam was the world's fifth tallest.
