Quick facts: Rouna-II is 40km northeast of Port Moresby and is the uppermost of four power stations of the Rouna hydro scheme, all using the waters of the Laloki River. Rouna-II was upgraded from Jan 2005 to Feb 2009 by Andritz and entura, the consulting group of Hydo Tasmania.

Upper Baiune-II

Quick facts: Upper Baiune opened on 2 Mar 2013 near the town of Bulolo on the Baiune River. The site is 110km from Lae. The development consortium included PNG Forest Products, PNG Power Ltd, and Katumani Landowner Group. The project was financed by Westpac Bank. This was the first fully-automatic HPP in PNG and also the firt with the electro-mechanical equipment entirely supplied from China.

  Yonki Toe of Dam

Quick facts: YTOD was built at the toe of the existing Yonki Dam to utilize the water being released for the Ramu 1 HPP downstream. The K90mn EPC contract was awarded to CNEEC in Jul 2008 with completion expected in 2010, but in Mar 2011 PPL terminated the contract because of non-performance. PPL then took over direct project management. The K75mn project is being funded by a consortium of local banks. The project includes a 1.8km, 132kv tie-line to the Ramu HPP.
