Quick facts: In Sep 2009, Hidroelectrica inaugurated the Raul Alb hydro
plant in Fenes town, Caras-Severin County. The €18mn plant is the first
fully-automated station on the Hidroelectrica system. The dam intake is
connected to the powerhouse by a fiber optic cable along the water tunnel,
another first in Romania. The plant was under development since 1981, but
was not licensed until Aug 2006.
