Quick facts: In April 2004, Electrogaz initiated an emergency power project in Kigali and retained Lahmeyer as owner’s engineer for a new power plant at Jabana Substation. Project funding was secured from the Netherlands and the Rwandan government. The project also required transformers, 11kV switchgear, radiator coolers, fuel tanks, and auxiliaries. The plant was handed over in 2005 just 100 days after contract award. A contract for a 20-MW extension at Jabana has been signed, but plant completion has been delayed until 2009.

Quick facts: In Aug 2005, construction got underway on this new diesel power plant in northern Brazzaville and the plant was completed in Oct 2007. The project was built to reduce power outages in the capital and included new 30kV and 6.6kV KV lines and two 30-MVA main transformers. The project cost €32mn and was financed in part by the Belgian government.
