CELEC Barge Location: Guayaquil Operator: CELEC Termopichincha Configuration: 4 X 12.5 MW 52/55 engines Fuel: heavy oil Operation: 2009 E/G supplier: MAN B&W Quick facts: In Oct 2006, CELEC was designated as the administrator of this power barge in Las Esclusas port area. Operations began in Nov and Dec 2009 on diesel and the engines switched over to bunker fuel in Jan 2010.

Of the total, 53 are deployed at the Santa Elena Substation and the balance at the Quevedo Substation. The thermal projects were built per an IPP award from CELEC in Feb 2010. Secoya Dygoil Location: Sucumbios Operator: PetroEcuador Configuration: 2 X 5.5 MW 16V32GD engines Fuel: flare gas, heavy oil Operation: 2004 E/G supplier: Wartsila EPC: Vaasa, Wartsila Quick facts: In 2001, PetroEcuador unit Petroproducción and partner Dygoil tendered for a dual-fuel power station to increase oil production in the Atacapi-Parahuacu oilfields near Secoya. The new plant went commercial in Mar 2004.
