Quick facts: In Jan 2005, MVM completed an Ft 6bn fuel conversion and plant extension project at Tatabanya. This involved converting two existing steam sets to gas firing and the addition of three new gas engines. The CHP plant will run mainly on natural gas supplied by a new 13km, high-pressure gas pipeline from MOL's gas substation at Szentgyorgypustza. Ganz Danubius was the main contractor on the existing sets. The plant was acquired by MVM in Sep 2004 for Ft 1,678mn.  It has a 20yr heating contract with the town and sells power to the grid.
