Chiquita Water Plant Location: USA Operator: Santa Margarita Water Dist Configuration: 4 X 30 kW C30 turbines CHP Operation: 2001-2003 Fuel: digester gas T/G supplier: Capstone Quick facts: The first two turbines were donated by the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) as part of their program to provide clean auxiliary power during periods of peak demand on the grid. The machines are fueled by anaerobic digester gas from the reclamation plant and waste heat is used to heat the digesters. The microturbines are all baseloaded.

CU Rec Center Location: USA Operator: University of Colorado Configuration: 1 X 30 kW C30 turbines Operation: 2004 Fuel: natural gas T/G supplier: Capstone Quick facts: The microturbine powers and heats the CU Rec Center swimming pool. It was developed as a cooperative effort of the CU Facilities Management department, the Colorado Governor's Office of Energy Management and Conservation, Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, and Capstone.

Waste heat is used to heat the digester tanks.
