Quick facts: This is a sister unit to Chasnupp-1. The contract was signed in May 2004, ground-breaking was on 8 Apr 2005, and first concrete was on 28 Dec 2005. Chasnupp-2 was connected to the grid on 14 Mar 2011 and declared commercial on 12 May 2012.

Quick facts: In Jun 2010, PAEC and SNERDI signed the main construction contract worth about $2.37bn for two more Chasnupp units (C3 and C4), slightly up-sized reactors rated at 340 MW. In May 2011, construction started on C-3. The reactor went critical in Aug 2016, was synchronized in Oct 2016, and went to full power the following month, basically to schedule. It was handed over and inaugurated by PM Nawaz Sharif on 28 Dec 2016. Power from the new unit will be evacuated through two new 220kV transmission lines.
