Duane Arnold Location: IA Operator: FPL Energy Configuration: 614 MW BWR Operation: 1975 Reactor supplier: GE T/G supplier: GE EPC: Bechtel Quick facts: This is Iowa's only nuclear plant and is situated on a 500ac site on the Cedar River, much of which is leased for farming and grazing land. The plant has over 500 employees with an annual payroll of $46mn. The unit got its construction permit in Jun 1970, its full-power operating license in Feb 1974, and went commercial in Feb 1975. In Jul 2005, majority owner Alliant Energy announced its plan to sell its ownership to FPL Group which, through subsidiary NextEra Energy Resources, now has 70% ownership in DAEC. Kewaunee Location: WI Operator: Dominion Generation Configuration: 581 MW PWR Operation: 1974 Reactor supplier: WH T/G supplier: WH EPC: Pioneer Quick facts: Kewaunee was built by a consortium led by Wisconsin Public Service Co.
