The plant provides approximately 700 jobs in the community, has a payroll of about $70mn and pays $29mn in taxes. A sister unit was cancelled.

South Texas Project Location: TX Operator: STP Nuclear Operating Co Configuration: 2 X 1,413 MW PWR Operation: 1988-1989 Reactor supplier: WH T/G supplier: WH EPC: Bechtel, Ebasco Quick facts: STP is jointly owned by Austin Energy, NRG Energy, and San Antonio City Public Service. Both units have been uprated. Unit-2 was world leader in gross generation in 2007 with 12.36 TWh.

Waterford-3 Location: LA Operator: Entergy Nuclear Inc Configuration: 1 X 1,200 MW PWR Operation: 1985 Reactor supplier: CE T/G supplier: WH EPC: Ebasco Quick facts: Waterford-3 went commercial on 24 Sep 1985 and has celebrated its 25th year of operation. The unit provides about 650 jobs and pays $26mn in taxes each year. Two 445-MW conventional gas-fired units are also at this site near Killona, LA.
