Puerto Errado Location: Murcia Operator: Novatec Biosol AG Configuration: 2 MW Operation: 2009 T/G supplier: KKK EPC: Novatec Biosol Quick facts: This is considered the world's first Linear Fresnel solar power plant and has 4,608 mirror modules and two 860m rows of receivers. The technology requires less land than other solar systems and consists of lightweight, modular components. Novatec was formed in 2005 by German engineers and Transfield Holdings acquired a majority stake in the firm in 2007. Engineering assistance for the scheme was obtained from Deutsches Zentrum für Luft und Raumfahrt and the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems.
