Quick facts: When in service, Anglesea employed approximately 110 people and supplied more than 40% of the power required by Alcoa's Point Henry smelter near Geelong. Fuel came from an open-cut coal mine about 3km away. The sttion closed on 31 Aug 2015.

Hazelwood

Quick facts: Hazelwood was a minemouth PS is in the Latrobe Valley. In 1996, the station and associated mine were sold for A$2.35bn. The current owners are GDF SUEZ (91.8% share) and Commonwealth Bank Group (8.2%). In the past, the plant has supplied around 11-12 TWh/yr, around 20% of Victoria’s load, and the state has been exporting 7-8 TWh/yr, most of it to NSW. The plant was closed on 1 Apr 2017. It will take about 4yrs to decommisison and demolish the facility.

Quick facts: Loy Yang A was sold in May 1997 as part of the Victorian Government's privatisation strategy. In Apr 2004, the plant was was sold to the Great Energy Alliance Corporation (GEAC) consisting of AGL, Tokyo Electric Power Co and a group of investors led by the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
