Quick facts: In Nov 2009, the foundation stone-laying ceremony was held for Fuxi PS in Gaoxian County, Yibin City. The project lead is China Power Investment and Sichuan Electric Power Development Co has an 18% stake. The estimated plant cost was Rmb 4,837mn. Unit-1 went commercial on 20 Oct 2011.

Quick facts: In Oct 2007, NDRC approved the Gongxian power project in Gongxian County, Yibin City. Construction began in Mar 2008 and the 600-MW, supercritical units went commercial in Feb and Aug 2011, respectively. The Phase-I project cost about Rmb 4,804mn. Phase-II will add two 1,000-MW generating units by 2015 on present plans: this will make this Gongxian largest thermal plant in the province.This was the first major construction project started in the area after the Great Sichuan Earthquake of May 2008.

Quick facts: This supercritical plant in Fuquan County, Qiannan AP, is jointly-invested by China Guodian (55%), Guangzhou Development Power Investment Co Ltd (30%), and Guizhou Shuicheng Coal and Electricity Co Ltd (10%), with 5% held in common. The project was approved in Mar 2009 and Unit-1 began start-up on 30 Nov 2012.

Quick facts: Site prep for on these two sets started on 1 Sep 2003 and they went commercial on 17 Feb and 24 Mar 2006, respectively, several months ahead of schedule.
Development at Huyayingshan began in 1974 and the original sets (2 X 50 MW and 2 X 100 MW, now closed) were completed from 1978-1982 and comprised one of Sichuan's largest thermal plants. Units 5&6 were jointly invested by China Guodian (51%) and Shenzhen Energy Group (49%).

Quick facts: In August 1998, the ADB approved a loan for construction of the 121km Guizhou Shuibai railway, a standard-gauge, single-track, electrified line from Liupanshui to Baiguo in the western part of Guizhou. The Panxian and Faer power plants were expanded and built along the railway to take advantage of increased
access to coal supplies. The second pair of 600-MW units have wet limestone scrubbers from CPI Yuanda.
