Quick facts: In June 1998, the power plant construction field office was
established for the Dingzhou power station in Kaiyuan Town, Dingzhou City.
The project is currently invested by China Shenhua Energy (40.5%), Hebei Construction Investment Group Co
Ltd (40.5%), and Datang Hebei Power Co Ltd (19%). Construction started on
two 600-MW units started in Aug 2001 and these went into service in Apr
and Sep 2004, respectively. In Aug 2007, NDRC approved the
construction of two 660-MW units and these went commercial in
Sep and Dec 2009, respectively. Unit-3 was the world's first
660-MW, two-cylinder sir-cooled supercritical set.

Quick facts: In April 1997, U.S. developer Panda Energy closed construction
financing for this plant in Luannan County, Tangshan, 220km due east
of Beijing. The plant was declared commercial in June 2000 with power
sales to North China Power Group.
Other energy customers are Hebei Jiteng Papermaking Co and the local
district heating system. Peak Pacific became the majority owner in 2001.
