Quick facts: Unit-1 was the first domestically-made 600-MW
supercritical coal-fired generating unit put into operation. In Jun
2007, HPI received approval to extend the Qinbei plant with Units 3&4.
The project cost approximately RMB4.48, of which 20% was equity capital funded
by HPI (60%), Henan Provincial Construction Investment Corp (35%), and Jiyuan Municipal Construction Investment Corp (5%), with
the remaining funded by bank loans. In Dec 2010, HPI was approved to
add the first of two 1,000-MW sets at Qinbei.

Quick facts: In Nov 1998, the first 350-MW unit at the Yahekou plant went into service in Nanyang City, southwestern Henan. The second followed in Jun 1999. The Spanish government made $372mn in loans to support the project. The plant is mainly invested by Henan Construction Investment and Investment. In 2005, a second phase with two 600-MW units was launched and these came online in 2008.
