Quick facts: In Jun 2001, Babcock & Wilcox won a $75mn contract to expand the Leiyang power station. The expansion was partly funded by the World Bank,
which provided $200mn in loans. The plant is tied to the grid at 220kV. In
December 2000, Hunan Electric Power Bureau was dissolved and its successor
Hunan Electric Power Co reorganized into a limited liability company to
focus on T&D and dispatching. The HEPC thermal plants were transferred to
China Datang Group.

Quick facts: In Nov 2007, Yongxing Power (then 60% owned by ONA Energy) signed
three contracts with local suppliers for 280,000 to 330,000 tpy of waste
coal and tailings for its CFB power plant project. Each of the first-phase
60-MW units will consume about 200,000 tpy of tailings and coal in a 2:1
ratio. The average delivered coal price is approximately RMB 300 (USD40)
per ton and the average delivered coal tailings price is RMB 60 (UD$8) per
ton. The all-in cost for coal and coal tailings is expected to be RMB
0.22/kWh (US$ 0.029). Hunan Province Price Bureau set an initial
electricity tariff rate for this plant of RMB 0.420 RMB/kWh (USD0.06).
Unit-1 went commercial on 3 Sep 2008. The
plant is connected to the Hunan grid at 110kV.
