Quick facts: Anshun II supplies the grids in Guizhou and Guangdong as part of the the West-to-East Electricity Delivery system. The units have wet lime FGD systems of Kawasaki Heavy Industry design from Sanrong Environmental Engineering. The plant is owned by CLP (70%), China Huadian Corp (18%), and Guizhou Development and Investment Corp (12%).

Quick facts: On 30 Mar 2008, the RMB 5.5bn, Fangchenggang Phase I was completed at a greenfield coastal site in Fangchenggang City, 180km south of Nanning. This is the first large-scale infrastructure power project completed since the announcement of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone Development Plan. The power plant has the largest dedicated coal terminal in the region and a long-term fuel supply contract with Indonesia. The first phase is a 70:30 joint venture between CLP and Guangxi Water & Power Engineering (Group) Co Ltd. These supercritical units have ESPs from Zhejiang Feida Environmental Co and FGDs from Beijing Boote Electric Power Technology Co. Phase II will have two 600-MW ultra-supercritical units.

Honghe

Quick facts: Honghe is in Kaiyuan City and has two ACFB boilers commissioned in Jun and Aug 2006, respectively. At completion, these were the largest of their kind in China. All power output is supplied to the Yunnan grid. Datang Power owns a 70% stake in the plant.

Quick facts: Fuzhou Phase I has two 350-MW sets supplied by MHI. Phase II and was commissioned in Sep 1999. Coal supply is mostly from northern Shanxi Province. It is transported by rail from the mines to Qinhuangdao port and by ship down the east coast of China and up the Min River to the plant quay. The plant has been retrofit with FGD.

Quick facts: The Meizhou Wan power station was conceived by Lippo Group in the early 1990s as part of a commercial and industrial development called Tati City. Non-recourse financing  for the $700mn power project closed on 11 May 1998 and Unit-1 was dedicated on 16 Feb 2001 as the first fully foreign-owned power plant approved by the State Council. At the time, developer Fujian Pacific Electric Co Ltd shareholders included InterGen (45%), Lippo China Resources (25%), El Paso Energy (24.8%) and the Asian Development Bank (5.2%).  This was Bechtel's first lump-sum, turnkey power project in China. In Mar 2006, Genting announced that it had entered into conditional purchase agreements for a 73.8% stake in Meizhou Wan, thereby completing its acquisition of 100% share ownership in the plant.

Quick facts: In August 1998, the ADB approved a loan for construction of the 121km Guizhou Shuibai railway, a standard-gauge, single-track, electrified line from Liupanshui to Baiguo in the western part of Guizhou. The Panxian and Faer power plants were expanded and built along the railway to take advantage of increased access to coal supplies. The second pair of 600-MW units have wet limestone scrubbers from CPI Yuanda.
