Shentou-2

Quick facts: In 2000, Datang Power acquired a 60% interest in the second phase at Shentou, which started construction in Aug 2002. In Dec 2004, Shentou-3 entered operation 16 months ahead of schedule. The plant is connected at 500kV to the BTT grid. The cost of Units 3&4 is estimated at Rmb 4.73bn. In June 2004, the basic tariff for Shentou-2 was set at Rmb 270/MWh.

Yungang

Quick facts: These two air-cooled units took less than 20mos to build from first concrete. All power is supplied via two 220kV transmission lines to the Shanxi grid. Datang owns an 80% stake in Yungang power plant where two 600-MW units are being added for service in 2009.

Zhangshan

Quick facts: These two units have air-cooled condensers fro SPX Cooling and semidry circulating fluidized bed FGD scrubbers from Wuhan Kaidi. These were the first Chinese units of this size with air cooling. The plant is a joint venture with Shanxi International Electric Power Group. Two 600-MW units are being added at Zhangshan in 2008.
