Quick facts: This plant is on the Vardar River 8km downstream from Negotino town. It has generally been used infrequently, although it is a valuable reserve for dry-year conditions. Site support infrastructure was built out for a second unit and overall site capacity could be as much as 1,000 MW. In 2005, the plant was spun out of Macedonia's state power company ESM and put up for sale.
