Quick facts: A 25-MW unit went on-line at Arthur Kill on
Staten Island in 1948. The borough's rapid growth in the 1950s, particularly after the
1964 completion of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge bridge necessitated a substantial expansion of the plant.
Consolidated Edison therefore added two much larger units. In June 1999, NRG Energy Inc assumed ownership as part of a $505mn asset purchase
from Con Edison.

Quick facts: Bowline is on the west bank of the Hudson River in Rockland County. It was built for and operated by Orange & Rockland Utilities for
many years. Unit-1 went commercial in Sep 1972, followed by Unit-2 in May 1974. In 1999,Southern Energy New York (later Mirant) bought the Bowline and Lovett
power stations from Orange and Rockland.

Quick facts: Originally known as the Williamsburg plant and built on the Wallabout Channel of the East River in Brooklyn to provide traction power
for Brooklyn Rapid Transit Co. Began life as a coal-fired plant. Sold to Con Ed in 1950 and 2 X 14 MW Rolls-Royce Avon gas turbines added in 1968.
Last steam sets retired in 1972. Supposedly, some of the original generators from Pearl Street were stored here. The property was put on the
market in 1999 and again in 2002, but not apparently sold. In 2007, asbestos remediation began.

Quick facts: When completed by Long Island Lighting Co, Unit-4 was one of the last conventional oil fired-units built in the United States. The four stacks are 600ft high.
In Jun 2010, a SOFA retrofit was completed on Uni-3 and this was accompanied by a GE dense-pack turbine efficiency upgrade of the Unit-3 turbine.

Quick facts: In 1999, NRG acquired Oswego power station from joint owners Niagara Mohawk Power Corp and Rochester Power Corp for $91mn. The facility
includes a tank farm and rail connection. By some measures, Oswego 5&6 are the largest oil-fired, steam-electric units ever built in the USA. In 1995,
one of the sets was converted to allow natural gas firing. Units 1-4 were originally built for coal-firing and converted to oil in 1972.

Quick facts: In 1974, NYPA purchased Poletti, then known as Astoria-6, from Consolidated Edison when the unit was under construction. The plant is named after Charles Poletti,
the only person to serve both as Governor of New York and a Power Authority trustee. In Sep 2002, NYPA reached
agreement with environmental groups and Queens Borough to close the unit on 1 Feb 2008 after a new CCGT block was completed. In the event, Poletti
was not shutdown until 29 Jan 2010.

Ravenswood

Quick facts: Ravenswood Unit-3 is known as "Big Allis," named after the turbine supplier Allis-Chalmers.
It was the world's largest generating unit when it was placed into service
by Consolidated Edison in 1965 at a cost of $168mn. Con Ed put the power station up for sale as part of its restructuring operation and KeySpan was selected
as the winning bidder for the steam-electric plant and 415-MW of gas turbine capacity. The $597mn sale closed in Jun 1999. In Aug 2006, the steam-electric
plant plus a 250-MW CCGT block and numerous simple-cycle GTs were sold on to TransCanada Corp for C$2.8bn.

for $903mn on 30 Jan 2001.

$600mn. FSM is a partnership between Fisher Brothers and Solow Realty and Development.
