Windyhill Location: QLD Operator: Stanwell Corp Configuration: 20 X 660-kW E-40 Operation: 2000 WTG supplier: Enercon EPC: Powercorp Operations Quick facts: This wind farm is located 3km from Ravenshoe, which is situated at 920m elevation and is the highest town in Queensland. The site is privately-owned Atherton Tableland dairy farmland. The project included an underground 22kV electrical reticulation system, SCADA system, and wind monitoring equipment. The turbines are installed on 44m, 2-piece tubular steel towers and fitted with 22m blades. At completion Windyhill was one of the largest wind plants yet built in subtropical territory.

Woolnorth-I Location: TAS Operator: Hydro Tasmania Configuration: 6 X 1.75-MW V66 Operation: 2002 WTG supplier: Vestas Quick facts: The wind farm site is on historic grazing property on Cape Grim on Woolnorth's rugged Tasmanian west coast. This area is reputed to have the cleanest air in the world. The Phase I plant went online in Aug 2002 and included a 22kV line to Smithton. Hydro Tasmania is supporting conservation and management of the endangered orange-bellied parrot which is found in the area.

Wonthaggi Location: VIC Operator: Wind Power Pty Ltd Configuration: 6 X 2-MW MM82 Operation: 2006 WTG supplier: Repower Systems Quick facts: The site is 3km from Wonthaggi Town center in Bass Shire, Gippsland. The turbines are built on 120ac of grazing land which traverses land behind sand dunes and a foreshore reserve.
