Magrath Location: AB Operator: EHN Wind Power Canada Configuration: 20 X 1.5 MW Operation: 2004 WTG supplier: GE Wind Energy Quick facts: The $48mn project is an equal partnership between Suncor Energy Inc, EHN Wind Power Canada Inc, and Enbridge Inc. One third of the output is used for Enbrige's pipeline operations with the balance sold into the grid.

McBride Lake Location: AB Owner: TransAlta Wind Configuration: 115 X 660-kW V47 Operation: 2002-2003 WTG supplier: Vestas Quick facts: This $100mn project in southern Alberta is a 50:50 joint venture of TransAlta and ENMAX. Construction began in Nov 2002 and the first machines went online around the end of the year. Annual output is about 235 GWh. ENMAX Energy purchases the entire plant output

Taber Location: AB Owner: TransAlta Wind Configuration: 37 X 2-MW E70 Operation: 2007 WTG supplier: Enercon EPC: Hatch Quick facts: Construction began in May 2006. These are among the first large Enercon machines in N America. The project cost about $140mn and has a 20yr supply agreement with the City of Calgary.
