Kaliakra Location: Bulgaria Operator: Kaliakra Wind Power AD Configuration: 35 X 1-MW MWT62 Operation: 2008 WTG supplier: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries EPC: Inos Quick facts: This site on the Black Sea coast is Bulgaria’s first full-size wind park and Japan’s first major investment in the Bulgaria power sector. All electricity produced is sold to Natsionalna Elektricheska Kompania. KWP is jointly owned by MHI (70%) and inos (30%) (capitalization: €10 million). The project is a Japanese-Bulgarian Joint Implementation project and up to 350,000t of emission credits will be sold to Japan Carbon Finance Ltd, a company established by JBIC and major Japanese corporations in 2004. Pakri Location: Estonia Operator: Vardar Eurus Ltd Configuration: 8 X 2.3 MW N90 Operation: 2004-2005 WTG supplier: Nordex Quick facts: This wind farm is located at the tip of the Pakri peninsula on an old Soviet military base. Development began in 2000, the plant was acquired by Vardar in May 2004, and construction got underway soon thereafter.The first wind turbine was connected on 15 Dec 2004 and the plant was completed in Mar 2005 at a cost of €24mn. Rudaiciai Location: Lithuania Operator: UAB Veju Spektras Configuration: 15 X 2 MW E-70 Operation: 2006-2007 WTG supplier: Enercon Quick facts: This is Lithuania’s largest wind plant and was built at about half a dozen sites near Vydmantai on the northern coast. The project cost €34mn and was mainly financed by a loan from a subsidiary of Hansabank. Areva T&D furnished a 110kV substation which was installed by Empower. Enercon is responsbile for plant O&M
