Arklow Bank Location: County Wicklow Operator: GE Energy Configuration: 7 X 3.6 MW Operation: 2004 WTG supplier: GE Wind Energy Quick facts: At completion, these were the largest turbines in offshore service. They are located on a sandbank about 10km offshore. The project was developed with Airtricity and a 95-MW expansion is planned. During construction, there were no recorded injuries and the plant had 94% availability in its first year of operation. This was one of Power magazine's Top Plants in 2005.

Derrybrien Location: County Galway Operator: ESB Hiberian Wind Power Configuration: 71 X 850 kW V52 Operation: 2006 WTG supplier: Vestas Quick facts: This plant in South Galway was the site of a considerable peat slide in Oct 2003. The Derrybrien plant is connected to two substations at 110kV.

Father Collins Park Location: County Dublin Operator: Dublin City Council Configuration: 5 X 50 kW EW15 Operation: 2009 WTG supplier: Entegrity EPC: ArArq Ireland, Buro Happold Ltd Quick facts: As part of its City Development Plan, Dublin is encouraging the development of renewable energy resources. In Aug 2003, DCC announced a two-stage competition for the Father Collins urban park and the 22ha park was built out at a cost of €20mn. Abelleyro + Romero Architects took the design lead.
