Princess Amalia (Q7) Location: NH Operator: Windpark Q7 (Econcern, Eneco) Configuration: 60 X 2-MW V80 Operation: 2008 WTG supplier: Vestas EPC: Vestas, Van Oord Quick facts: Windpark Q7 is a joint project of Econcern, Energy Investments Holding and ENECO Energie located in 19-24m of water 23km offshore from IJmuiden in block Q7 of the Dutch continental shelf. At completion, it was the furtherst offshore of any wind park in the world. The 4m diameter foundations are 54m and weigh 320t. These are topped by 115t transition pieces. The 520t offshore transformer was manufactured by Bladt and ABB in Denmark. The WTGs are tied to the substation by 22kV sea cables and a 150kV subsea cable connects to the mainland. The plant was officially opened on 4 Jun 2008 and renamed Princess Amalia. Annual power production is expected to be 435 GWh. Financaning was by Dexia, Rabobank, and BNP Paribas. Photograph courtesy of
