Taegisan

Quick facts: This wind farm is near Taegisan mountain in Hwoengseong-gun and Bongpyeong-myeon in Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do. This is the highest peak in Hoengseong-gun at 1,261m. Development started in Apr 2005 when Posco E&C signed a project MOU with the provincial government and Eurus Energy. Of 85bn won invested in the project, 42.5bn came from foreign investors. With an average 26% load factor, the project is expected to supply 98 GWh/yr to the grid and generate annual revenues of 9-11.3bn won. The turbines are installed in two groups, one in Hoengseonggun (9 units) and the second in Pyeongchang-gun (11units). The plant was opened on 26 Nov 2008.
