All power from Camp Springs is sold into the ERCOT wholesale market. Commodity price risk was mitigated under a long-term hedging structure with Fortis Merchant and Private Banking. Fortis also arranged and provided construction financing for the facility. Goat Mountain Location: TX Operator: Edison Mission Configuration: 80 X 1 MW 1000A, 29 X 2.4 MW 2400 Operation: 2008-2009 WTG supplier: MHI EPC: Wanzek Construction Quick facts: Goat Mountain Wind Ranch is in Coke and Sterling counties about 30mi north of San Angelo. It sells power to LCRA and is connected at 345kV. The 11,000ac project has 20 landowners as partners. Penascal Location: TX Operator: Iberdrola Renewables Inc Configuration: 168 X 2.4 MW MWT92/2.4 Operation: 2009-2010 WTG supplier: MHI EPC: Mortenson Quick facts: This project in Kenedy County is one of the largest U.S. wind parks and was Iberdrola's largest wind plant at completion. Electricity is sold to CPS Energy and South Texas Energy Cooperative. The plant cost about $440mn and was built in two phaes, the second completing in Jun 2010. The complex has a radar system that can detect flocks of migratory birds and shut down turbines if necessary.

Snyder Location: TX Operator: Enel North America Inc Configuration: 21 X 3 MW V90 Operation: 2008 WTG supplier: Vestas EPC: WKN Quick facts: Snyder Wind was developed by WKN and is located in Scurry County. Construction was completed in Dec 2007 and the plant commissioned on 11 Jan 2008. These were the largest WTG assemblies in the USA at the time with 105m towers. Enel and Fortis Energy Marketing & Trading have a 1.1 TWh, 10yr fixed-price hedge agreement for the wind park.

Wildorado Location: TX Operator: Edison Mission Group Configuration: 70 X 2.3 MW MK II/2.3 Operation: 2007 WTG supplier: Siemens EPC: Mortenson Quick facts: This is Edison Mission Group’s first wind project in Texas. The site is 25mi west of Amarillo in Oldham, Potter and Randall counties. Grid connection is via a 20mi, 230kV tie-line. The project was developed by Cielo Wind Power and sells electricity to Xcel Energy.
