Quick Facts: The original OLO incineration plant dates to 1978. Throughput is 135,000mt/yr of MSW. The plant was rebuilt in 2000-2002 and a T/G set added. The OLO plant is to be rebuilt again, this time with three new lines and an 8.7-MW T/G set. Steam is provided for the Bratislava DHS system and for the Slovnaft refinery.

Quick Facts: This heating-only WTE plant was rebuilt and equipped with a T/G set in 2010. Waste throughput tripled to about 210,000 tph. In Nov 2010, another modernization project started and the plant reopened in Feb 2014 with a second T/G set, rebuilt boiler and incineration systems, and new APCS equipment. This upgrade cost €28mn. Kosit is owned by Demont Group (61%), Kosice City (34%), and Simest (5%).

Sako Brno

Quick facts: Construction of the Sako WTE began in 1984 and it was put into operation in 1989 as a heat-only operation. Since then, it has burned about 2.1mn mt of refuse. In 2008, the decision was made to modernize the plant and add a a steam T/G set. Two new lines are being installed along with new steam boilers, wet lime scrubber with activated carbon injection, SNCR, and baghouses. MSW burn will be about 248,000tpy.

Termizo

Quick facts: Construction on the Termizo plant began in 1996. The project was supported by 16 municipalities and Liberec region, which also became a shareholder in the operating company. At year-end 2002, CP Financial Service as acquired a 91.07% share in Termizo. The plant burns 96,000 tpy of MSW and runs about 8,000hrs/yr. 24 MW of thermal energy capacity is used to supply 610,000 GJ/yr to the Liberec city heating system. Electricity output is about 6,500 MWh/yr. EIC spol sro organized the initial investments and Von Roll supplied the air pollution control equipment along with the incinerator system.

ZEVO

Quick facts: The ZEVO plan is being extended with a new SST-400 steam T/G set and extensive upgrades to the catalytic controls. Waste throughout is 310,000mt/yr, about three-quarters of the capital's MSW. Current heat output is routed to the Malesice Heating Plant with some steam supplied directly to industrial customers.

Quick facts: This EFW plant burned its first waste on 20 Apr 2015. The project cost CZK 2.1bn. Design throughput is 95,000 tpy of MSW from the Pilsen region. Thermal capacity is 31.7 MWt and a 6km line was built to deliver hot water to the local DHS.
