Quick Facts:  This unit in Granarolo Emila replaces an old WTE unit which operated from 1973-2005.  During that time, the plant handled 4.4mn tons of refuse and produced 554 GWH of electricity and 416 mn mcal of thermal energy. The new unit was authorized in 2001 and has two identical lines with a total capacity of 660 tpd  It is expected to produce about 130 GWh/yr as well as heat. The current unit has a bicarbonate scrubber with activated carbon injection, a barghouse, and SCR. Frullo Energia is a Hera company.

Quick Facts: Development of this plant started in 1998 when authorities tendered for a new, privately-owned WTE plant for Southern Calabria. The TEC SpA (Termo Energia Calabria) scheme includes the incinerator and five regional collection sites in Reggio Calabria, Gioia Tauro, Siderno, Crotone e Rossano Calabro, giving a total nominal throughtput of 411,000 tpy of of MSW, of which 120,000 tpy is used in the WTE plant. Two lines were built, the first completing in 2004 and the second the following year.

Quick Facts: Foster Wheeler developed the project and built the  CFB boiler for the 200,000 tpy plant. Lomellina  has a dry scrubber using lime and activated carbon injection followed by a baghouse.  In Jan 2001, FW sold a 50% stake in the operating company to a subsidiary of Merloni Group and in 2005, Cogeme (Linea Group) purchased a 51% stake in the operating company. A second, similarly-sized line was opened in 2007 at a cost of about €150mn.

Quick Facts: Società Intercomunale Lecchese per l'Ecologia e l'Ambiente per Azioni (Silea) was formed in 1995 as a municipal waste company per agreements dating to 1972. The plant is in Valmadrera. In 2006, a second waste treatment line and steam T/G set was added. The boiler system has urea injection, a baghouse, sodium bicarbonate scrubber with activated carbon injection, a wet scrubber, and an air-cooled condenser. In 2007, the plant consumed 65,000t of refuse and produced 37 GWh of electric power.
