EPC: COWI, ETK, Jærentreprenør AS Quick facts: The Forus WTE plant is jointly-invested by IVAR (43 %), Lyse Neo (43 %), RYMI (3.5 %), DIM (3.5 %), IRS Miljø (3.5 %) and RFL (3.5%). Heat is supplied to Stavanger, Sandnes and Sola and, since Nov 2012, to Jåttåvågen. MSW througput is 110,000 tpy from 24 municipalities with a population of about 380,000. It went online in the spring of 2010. Throughput is about 130,000 tpy of MSW. The plant cost NOK 1.3bn plus NOK 100mn for land and NOK 100mn in IDC. Alstom was hired for the flue-gas cleaning equipment. In addition to electricity, the plant supplies district heat and process steam to an adjacent factory. Design throughput is 9t of MSW/hr.
